Music at St. Paul’s

Music is an integral part of worship at St. Paul’s. The centerpiece of the music program is the Adult Choir, offering musical leadership centered in the rich musical traditions of our Anglican heritage.

Adult Choir

The Choir sings in the weekly 10:30am Sunday service (Rite II), and provides special musical offerings throughout the year, including the annual Festival of Nine Lessons & Carols on Advent IV, patterned on the service begun at Kings College, Cambridge. This service is a well-loved holiday tradition in Hampton Roads, and is typically one of the best-attended services of the year. The choir has also participated in a number of joint choral ventures with other churches and faith communities (Christ & St. Luke’s Episcopal, St. Andrew’s Episcopal , and Ohef Sholom Temple).

The Choir rehearses on Thursday nights from 6:45-8:15pm, and on Sunday mornings prior to the 10:30 service. For information on choir participation, please contact Charles Woodward, Director of Music, at 757-627-4353, ext. 13, or email here.

M. Foscue & Clara P. Brock Memorial Organ

Saint Paul’s Church is blessed with an exceptional pipe organ. This beautiful instrument with mechanical key action was built by Mander Organs of London, England, and was the gift of Macon F. and Joan P. Brock, Jr. Given in memory of Mr. Brock’s parents, the instrument was installed in November 2006, and has been a blessing both to our parish and the local community.
